Bausatzlokale
There is nobody in Graz who does not know the Bausatzlokale. For good reason, as they are something like the veterans of the student bars in Graz. The Sägewerk restaurant, for example, has been around since 1997. It has the rustic flair that is typical to the Bausatzlokale, including subdued lighting as well as nicely worn out tables and seating areas.
Other popular locations in the heart of the university district are the Posaune, Zeppelin, Gramophon, Propeller and the Bierbaron. Due to its beautiful outdoor dining area, the Propeller and the Trombone are particularly recommended in summer, but the Gramophon offers seating in the fresh air as well.
Highlight Area 5
If you are not in the university district at the moment, but still want the Bausatzlokal charm, you are in good hands at the Continuum on Sporgasse. The highlight among all locations, however, is Area 5. It offers an elegant ambiance and a cozy roof terrace from which you have a fantastic view over the city.
