You don’t have the time or aren’t in the mood to cook; therefore, you need a cheap but good restaurant. Gelbes Krokodil

Opening hours: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 12am-3pm & 5pm-10pm, Tue 12am-3pm & 6pm-10pm, Sat & Sun 4pm-10pm

The Gelbes Krokodil has everything you could ask for. Whether you’re a vegetarian or vegan, or enjoy meat and fish, this restaurant has a big offer. Solaris

The Solaris is known to be the perfect mix of bar, café and club. If you want to go for a relaxing beer or some cocktails wit your friends or really want to go out, you’ve come to the right place. Maybe you’ll stop for some food at the Gelbes Krokodil before partying. A perfect combination!

Die Bohne

Opening hours: Mon – Fri 7:30am-8pm, Sun 9am-6pm

Coffee lovers have to visit Die Bohne in Linz. Espresso, Melange, Latte Macchiato – they serve coffee just as you prefer it. Non coffee drinkers are also welcome and can find a big assortment of teas on the menu. Opening hours: Mon, Wed – Sat 7am-6pm, Sun 8am-3pm

You can find all the different breakfast creations in just one restaurant the tiktak café. Ranging from healthy muesli and yogurt bowls, to hearty meals with eggs to American pancakes. Cheap and good, exactly as you like it!

Walker Bar

Address: Hauptplatz 21, 4020 Linz

Opening hours: Mon-Sun from 9am

The Walker Bar is a true all-rounder among student restaurants: breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course the bar afterwards. The many breakfast variations are served until 3 pm for night owls. The student restaurant has a great menu: burgers, hot dogs, salads, toasts and baguettes. The Walker bar offers all kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Exxtrablatt

Address: Spittelwiese 6, 4020 Linz

Opening hours: Mon-Sat from 5pm

The rustic looking Exxtrablatt is the student restaurant for you and your friends after a long day at university. The servers are waiting for you with a big variety of beers, red and white wines, cocktails, gin, whiskey, tequila, vodka and more. As a good basis for a long evening, they have many burgers, some toasts and creative salads.

Das Teichwerk

Opening hours: Mon – Fri 9am-10pm, Sat 9am-6pm

Not far away from STUWO dormitory Linz, the Teichwerk has everything your heart or rather your stomach longs for: from brunch and snacks to dinner. This modern and welcoming restaurant at the lake will charm you with its healthy, tasty and sustainable delicacies. Nacho platters, flatbread, wraps, curries, ramen – there is something for everybody. The Teichwerk is also perfect for a relaxing evening with your friends and some drinks.

Café Gerberei

Opening hours: Thur-Sun 12am-7pm

The Café Gerberei offers delicious coffees as well as a selection of teas and hot chocolates. Of course, you’ll need a tasty cake with that. For a bigger appetite, there are some snacks too.

Leberkas-Pepi

The name already gives away, what Leberkas-Pepi sells. But if you think you can “only” get Leberkäse, then you’re mistaken. They don’t only have classic Leberkäse, but also special flavours like pizza, chilli or truffle flavoured Leberkäse. Have fun trying all of them!

Donauwirtinnen

With classic offers such as Schnitzel and pasta and more elaborate dishes such as curry and deer stew, the cafeteria offers many options. Vegans and vegetarians will also find something here.

2. Ch@t café

Address: Campus at Johannes-Kepler-University, building “Hörsaaltrakt”

Opening hours: Mon – Thu 8am-4pm, Fri 8am-2pm

In the morning you can get a delicious barista-made coffee at the Ch@t Café or get some coffee and cake after your lecture. If you are really hungry, you can also choose from a wide variety of snacks. And it’s all really cheap, of course.
